Download groups

You can download an image group as an HTML file, which you can then post to a course web site. You may also download groups into the Offline Image Viewer (OIV) or PowerPoint 2007 for presentation purposes.

Save as a web page

  1. Open your image group.
  2. In the ARTstor navigation bar, click Share > Print image group.
  3. Select the desired print option:
      • Full record (prints the full ARTstor data records)
      • Brief record with personal notes (prints brief object information (Creator, Title, Date), along with any Personal Notes)
      • Brief record with instructor notes (prints brief object information (Creator, Title, Date), along with any Instructor's Commentary)
  4. A new browser window will open, displaying the images and their data records. In this browser window’s toolbar menu click File > Save As.
  5. Your computer directory will open. Choose to save the file as a "Web Page, complete" or, on a Mac, a "Web Archive." Choose the location you would like to save the file.
  6. Click Save. When the save is complete, you will find two files in the destination location: your group page as an individual .html file (ARTstor.htm); and a folder titled "ARTstor_files," which contains the thumbnail images referenced in the .html file. You may now share this .html file and/or the folder of images with students or colleagues, or post the page to your password protected course web site.

This feature is currently in Beta. It is only available to Instructor-Level users at this time. Learn more about Instructor Privileges.

Please check all technical requierments before using this feature, including adding ARTstor as a trusted site or disabling popup blockers, and saving the file to an accessible location; you must also have PowerPoint 2007 or later to use the file.

  1. Log into your ARTstor account and open an image group containing 100 or fewer images.
  2. Above the image group thumbnails, towards the right side of the screen you will see the export to PowerPoint button (image:Download_ppt.png). Click this.
  3. A window will appear telling you how many images you can download in the current 120 day period. Click Yes to proceed. In Beta testing this will be limited to 1000 images per 120 days.
  4. A new window will appear with a progress bar as your PowerPoint 2007 presentation file is generated. This may take several minutes, depending on the group size.
  5. A new window will appear. Follow the prompts to SAVE the file to your computer. Once you have saved the .pptx file you can open and edit it using Microsoft PowerPoint 2007. Each image will appear on its own slide, with the image data in the notes field below each slide.
