All participating institutions have an institutional work folder, named "[Institution] Work Folder." This folder appears in the list of folders to all users at an institution. Image groups in this folder can be added by users with a password provided by your local User Support or institutional contact.

Add image groups to the institutional work folder
Please note: You need to be a registered user to add image groups to the institutional work folder.
- Log in to your ARTstor account.
- In the ARTstor navigation menu, click Find > Unlock password-protected folder.
- Enter your name and the password your local User Support contact provided you. Click Submit.
- You now have the option to save image groups into the institutional folder, where they will be seen by all users at your institution.
Quick Tip
To contact your local User Support, go to the ARTstor Welcome page. On the right side of the page under "Questions?", click the link to Email your institutional contact. This will launch your default email client with the email address pre-populated.
View/add notes
Registered users can add personal notes and Instructor-level users can add instructor notes to the institutional work folder. For information about searching notes, see notes search.
Personal notes
- Log in to your ARTstor account and open an image group.
- Click the caption beneath the desired image thumbnail to open the data window.
- Click the “Personal notes” tab.
- Click once in the free-text field to enter or edit text.
- Click Save.
Instructor notes
- Log in to your ARTstor account and open an image group. Please note: You must have instructor privileges to write instructor notes.
- Click the caption beneath the desired image thumbnail to open the data window.
- Click the "Instructor notes" tab.
- Click once into the free-text field to enter or edit text. To make these notes visible and searchable to other users accessing this folder, check the “Public” radio button.
OR
To keep these notes private, select the radio button “Hide.” - Click Save.
