There are three ways to create presentation slides:

Start with a blank template
- Click on the "Add a slide" icon
, which you can find in the upper left corners of both the Slide Sorter and Slide Editor panes. Other options...
- A new window will open, displaying a set of slide templates.
- For each template, the gray boxes represent image placeholders, while the black lines represent text boxes. Zoom-able templates will display a magnifying glass. For a complete list of available slide templates, please see the Slide Templates guide.
- If you prefer to start from a blank slide, use the first template listed, which contains the blue question mark (?).
- Click on the desired template, and then click on the "OK" button to close the window.
- Your new slide will appear in the Slide Sorter. Click on the slide preview to begin editing the slide in the Slide Editor pane.
Generate from selected image(s)
- Click on an image in the Image Palette to select it. To select multiple images, use the Shift or Ctrl- (or
) key when clicking on thumbnails. - Click on the "Create slides from selected image(s)” icon
in the upper left corner of the Image Palette pane. Other options...
- A new window will open, displaying a set of slide templates.
- For each template, the gray boxes represent image placeholders, while the black lines represent text boxes. Zoom-able templates will display a magnifying glass.

- Click on the desired template and click on the "OK" button to close the window. To automatically import data into your slides...
- Your new slide(s) will appear, with the images imported into the placeholders in the order that you selected them. Click on a slide preview in the Slide Sorter to begin editing that slide in the Slide Editor.
Import PowerPoint slides
You may import an exiting PowerPoint presentation to create OIV slides. Once you have converted your PowerPoint slides into the OIV format, you will be able to edit them as you would normal OIV slides. For detailed instructions, please see: Importing PowerPoint presentations.
