Add and replace images
- If you selected a slide template with images, the preview displayed in the Slide Editor will contain empty placeholders, instructing you to "Place image here."
- Find an image in the Image Palette, then drag and drop it into the empty placeholder.
- The image will appear in the slide preview, sized to fit in the space delineated by a dashed outline.
- To resize the image, use the handles along the dashed outline.
- To capture a detail from the whole image, use the zoom tools provided at the top of the Slide Editor.
- You may continue to add additional images to the slide. Click on the "Add an image" icon
in the toolbar at the top of the Slide Editor pane. Other options...
- A new empty placeholder will appear in the center of the slide. Use your mouse to reposition the placeholder, as necessary.
- Find another image in the Image Palette, and then drag and drop it into the placeholder.
- If you dropped the wrong image into the placeholder, or want to replace an image that you've already added to a slide, simply drag a new image from the Image Palette on top of the existing image.
- A new window will open, asking you if you want to replace the current image.
- Click on the “Yes” button to proceed or the “No” button to cancel the request.
- If you would like to rotate or flip an image before adding it to a slide, please see: Rotating images. Once you've created a rotated or flipped copy of the original image, you may drag the transformed copy onto a slide, just like a normal image.
Move images
- Click on an image once to select it, so that a dashed outline appears around the placeholder.
- Click on the "Move" tool
in the toolbar at the top of the Slide Editor.
- Go back to the selected image, then drag and drop it into a new location on the slide.
Resize images
- Click on an image once to select it, so that a dashed outline appears around the place holder.
- Click on any one of the 8 square handles that appear on the corners and sides of the dashed outline.
- Drag the side or corner of the image until the placeholder has reached the desired size.
- Adjust the image to fit the resized placeholder.
- Click on the "Zoom in" tool
in the toolbar at the top of the Slide Editor. Then, click into the image until it fits the resized frame. Other options...
- You can also right- (or Control-) click with your mouse and select the "Fit to frame" option to automatically resize the image to fit the resized placeholder. Other options...
- Click on the "Zoom in" tool
Create zoomed details
- Click on an image once to select it, so that a dashed outline appears around the place holder.
- Click on the "Zoom in" tool
in the toolbar at the top of the Slide Editor. - Click anywhere into the selected image. The image will zoom wherever your mouse clicks. Other options...
- Once you click off the slide, the zoomed detail will be preserved as you left it. You may continue to edit the captured detail:
Set background and border colors
- Click on an image once to select it, so that a dashed outline appears around the place holder.
- Click on the "Properties" icon
in the toolbar at the top of the Slide Editor. Or, you may also right- (or Control-) click on the image and select the "Properties" option from the shortcut menu. Another alternative is the Ctrl- (or
) W keyboard shortcut. - A new window will open (pictured below), displaying options for adding background and border colors for the selected image.
- After making your selections, click on the "OK" button to apply your changes.
- If need to remove a border or background that you have applied to an image, repeat steps #1-3. After clicking on the drop-down arrow for "Border Color" or "Background Color," click on the “None" link above the color palette.
Delete images
- Click an image once to select it, so that a dashed outline appears around the place holder.
To select multiple images, hold down the Ctrl- (or
) key while making selections.
- Click the "Delete selected objects" icon
in the toolbar at the top of the Slide Editor. Or, you may also right- (or Control-) click on the image and select the "Delete selected object(s)" option from the shortcut menu. Another alternative is to press the Delete key on your keyboard.
- If you need to undo the deletion, use the Ctrl- (or
) Z keyboard shortcut. Or, you may also select the "Undo..." option from the "Edit" toolbar menu.
