Edit text
- If you selected a slide template with text, the preview displayed in the Slide Editor will contain empty text boxes, instructing you to "Double click to add text."

Another method of adding text is to import the data records from images in the Image Palette.
- Find an image in the Image Palette, then drag and drop it on top of a text box.
- A new window will open, displaying a list of available fields from the selected image's data record. Check the boxes next to the desired fields. Then, click on the "OK" button to close the window and complete the process. Please note...
- With either method, the text displayed in text box will be fully editable.
Quick Tips
- You may also automatically import data records when generating batches of slides for certain templates. For more information, please see: Creating new slides - Generate from selected images.
- When you import data from an image in the Image Palette, there may be more text than can be displayed within the text box at its current size and/or text formatting. The presence of this additional text will be indicated by a small icon
in the lower right corner of the text box. You may have to change the font size to fit all the text in the space provided. Another option is to resize the text box so that it displays all of the text that you imported.
Format text
- Double-click into a text box with existing text to select the entire block for formatting. You may also use your mouse to select a specific portion of the text block for formatting.

in the toolbar at the top of the Slide Editor. Other options...
- A new window will open, displaying several options for formatting your text. As you make your selections, changes will be reflected in the "Sample Text" preview area in the center of this window.

- After making your selections, click on the "OK" button to apply the changes.
- You may go back to any text box to adjust the formatting of the text. Simply repeat steps #1-4 above.
Quick Tip
You can set default text formatting preferences so that you don't have to adjust the formatting each time you create a slide with text.
- Go to the "Edit" toolbar menu and select the "Preferences..." option. (In Macs, this option will be listed under the "ARTstor OIV" menu and is also accessible by using the
-, keyboard shortcut.)
- In the window that opens, click on the "Slide Defaults" or "Defaults" tab. Then, use the fields provided to set the default font color, type, size, and style.
- Once you have made your selections, click on the "OK" button. These default settings will persist for any new text boxes that you create. You may always go back the "Preferences" menu to re-adjust these formatting preferences.
Add text boxes
- You may to add additional text boxes to any slide. Click on the "Add a text box" icon
in the toolbar at the top of the Slide Editor pane. Other options...
- A new empty text box will appear in the center of the slide. Use your mouse to reposition the box or resize it, as necessary.
- Double-click into the text box to begin keying in your text.
Move and resize text boxes
- Click on a text box once to select it, so that a dashed outline appears around the placeholder.
- Click on the "Move" tool
in the toolbar at the top of the Slide Editor.
- Go back to the selected text, then drag and drop it into a new location on the slide.
- To re-size the box, click on any one of the 8 square handles that appear on the corners and sides of the dashed outline.
- Drag the side or corner of the outline until the text has reached the desired size.
- If your text content cannot be displayed in the space provided, an icon
will appear in the bottom right corner of the text box, indicating there is additional text beyond the visible area of the placeholder. You can adjust the size of the text box or re-format the text so that it will display within the given area.

Set background and border colors
- Click on a text box once to select it, so that a dashed outline appears around the place holder.
- Click on the "Properties" icon
in the toolbar at the top of the Slide Editor. Other options...
- A new window will open, displaying options for adding background and border colors for the selected image.
- After making your selections, click on the "OK" button to save your changes.
- If need to remove a border or background that you have applied to an image, repeat steps #1-3. After clicking on the drop-down arrow for "Border Color" or "Background Color," click on the “None" link above the color palette. To reset the opacity level, repeat steps #1-3, then slide the arrow to the right of the "Opacity" field to the desired level.
Delete text boxes
- Click on a text box once to select it, so that a dashed outline appears around the place holder. To select multiple slides...
