Register for an ARTstor account

  1. Enter the ARTstor Digital Library.
  2. In the Log In area at the upper right side of the screen, click Not registered?.
  3. A registration form will appear. Enter a valid email address and password, avoiding the use of symbols (e.g., ? /\ <>+ # %) or diacritics (e.g., é å ï ñ ô).
  4. Click Submit.
  5. You will automatically be logged in to your new account. The Log In area will change to display a welcome message and your email address.

Register for Instructor Privileges

Please note: If you have not already done so, you will need to register for an ARTstor account to obtain Instructor Privileges.

  1. On the right side of the Welcome page under "Questions?", click the link to Email your institutional contact. Request the authorization code and password to obtain Instructor Privileges in ARTstor. Once you have received this information, go to ARTstor and log in.
  2. In the upper right hand corner, next to the Log Out button, click Edit my profile.

    OR

    Click Tools > Preferences.
  3. The preferences window will open. Click the "Instructor Privileges" tab.
  4. Enter the authorization code and password in the fields provided.
    • If you have previously registered for Instructor Privileges, you do not need to do so again. If this is the case, you will not see a form, but a message notifying you that you already have Instructor-Level Privileges.
  5. Click the Save button. A confirmation message will appear. Click OK to complete the process.

    Now that you have successfully registered for Instructor Privileges, you will have access to additional features in the Share and Upload toolbar menus. For more information, please see: Sharing with folders and Building Personal Collections.

    6. Register to unlock a folder

    1. Log in to your ARTstor account.
    2. In the ARTstor navigation bar, click Find > Unlock password-protected folder.
    3. A new window will appear. Enter your first name, last name, and the password provided by the folder creator.
    4. Click Submit.
    5. A confirmation message will display the name of the folder you have unlocked as well as what type of access you have been granted (Read or Write Access).
    6. Now that you are registered to the folder, you will be able to open and view its contents the same you would any other folder.

    Student Work Folders

    In certain cases, the confirmation message in step #5 will also inform you "A private course folder: <folder title here> (your initials here) has been created for you." For more information, please see Student Work Folders.
